Ready to face it head-on, together? Success Sabotage: Face it head-on. 1. I can eat what I want because I work out like a machine! Maybe you can, pizza-monster!  But for most, this isn’t the case. There’s no dodging the impact of healthy, balanced meals. The sooner we get really real about the HUGE role food plays in our health, the sooner we’ll see and feel the results we’re looking for.  We can do all the workouts we want, but for most people with the average metabolism, food plays a bigger role in determining our weight, plain and simple. Food is everything! 2. I deserve it. It’s been a long day. We didn’t have an afternoon snack, and maybe we missed dinner altogether, racing around with errands or last minute work projects. After a day like that, don’t we deserve a big glass of wine with a huge bowl of extra-cheesy lasagna and garlic bread?  Actually, we deserve food that will nourish us, and a workout to help get the blood flowing!  Don’t fall into the indulgent trap, it’s a vicious cycle that’s tough to break. All we did was google: “fitness magazine covers”.   We actually pay people to tell us this sh!t. Even if we don’t buy these kinds of magazines, these messages still scream at us in the market line-up, on highway billboards, and worst of all, where we work out. Marketers need us to feel too old, too fat, and too skinny.  They need us to believe we don’t know how to eat, that we’re missing a BIG SECRET, and that we can’t make any choices for ourselves. If we dislike ourselves just enough, we’ll buy what they’re selling. We drank the juice, too. For years, WE were buying the same old crap for ourselves. Why? Because we’re born and raised in the fitness industry, where body-shaming was born.  Want proof? Just check out these unfathomable gym ads.  We all fall prey to the cycle of guilt, and we knew we had to do something to change it. It’s always been about taking the power back. This is why Rebellion was born: so we could band together to end the cycle. Listen, there is nothing wrong with wanting to lose weight. Maintaining a healthy percentage of body fat is key to overall health; everyone knows that.  And there’s nothing wrong with wanting to change your appearance. We all have to do what feels right for us. What needs to change is who decides how we feel about ourselves, and who decides what we do about it. And because we get slammed with this BS on the regular, we have to check in ALL THE TIME to make sure we’ve empowered ourselves...

Mondays with mad potential! Here’s why we think Mondays have magic when it comes to creating the lifestyle we want. A week of goal-crushing. If we want the most from our workouts, they have to be habit instead of chance.  Instead of squeezing it in when there’s time (because let’s be serious…there’s always something else we could think of doing), scheduling a start-of-the-week workout makes us way more likely to make fitness - and goal-crushing in general - a priority all week long. The slippery slope factor. Have an intense weekend of BBQs and cocktails?  Cheers to that - weekends are for good times! Postponing a return to workouts makes us more likely to talk ourselves out of fitness all week long…”I’ll get back there next week when I’ve eaten a little better/feel less bloated/have more energy…” Sound familiar?  We love nipping it in the bud and locking that Monday workout in, guilt-free and ready to rock. Bring on the week! Feel-good endorphins from crushing a Monday workout give us a more positive outlook on the day and week ahead. We’re a whole thing.  We want what we want and we want it now.  When we can shop, hail a cab, and plan world travel in a few simple clicks; it’s no wonder we want a quick fix for everything.  Not to mention, they’ve been telling us for years we can have it all if only we just buy whatever their magic secret is. From blenders to hair products to real estate…isn’t that what they want us to believe? For four years our Revvers’ have shared stories with us about their past attempts at quick fixes.  From cleanses and detoxes to bars and shakes; from 21-day slim-downs to cucumber diets, we’ve heard it all.
