The people who inspire and motivate us the most always have one thing in common: perseverance.  Why  do we have this misconception that some people get all the luck?  That some people’s roads are smoother and flow more easier because they were gifted with the talent good fortune to reach the loftiest of goals? Any accomplished artist will say - they do not roll out of bed every morning and paint a masterpiece.  They try and fail a zillion times before finding their flow.  Writers struggle for days, months, sometimes years, throwing away endless drafts before finally finding the voice of a story.  Think of elite athletes - how many time do they fall, lose, bleed before becoming a champion? What elevates people to extraordinary is resilience and focus.  We have to believe in our goals, see ourselves reaching them, and stop at nothing to get where we believe we deserve to go. Our Rebellion goals are no different. What motivates you to push through your challenge?  Most of us start with a focus on inches or pounds, or maybe the desire to fit into a goal outfit.  But doesn’t something else completely take over? You signed up for the Revkor Shred - you are clearly hardcore and committed to seeing results! Is it practical to think you won’t consume any alcohol for 8 weeks?!? In an ideal world the best way to make the most of your Shred efforts is to lay off the sauce for the full Shred. But this is why our manifesto is work out, eat clean, LIVE FULLY.  It’s all about balance! The goal is to feel as great as you possibly can, without feeling deprived of a little fun and rev-style badassery.  A couple of cocktails a week will not throw you off your game.  More than that?  It’s your call - if you want killer results, it’s all in your hands.  Luckily we have some recommendations, just in time for #FreePassFriday! Our top recommendations for Shred Happy Hour: Beer and sugary cocktails are a no-go.  Hi.  Can you say bloated? Splurge on a killer glass of quality red and savour it. Creamy Leek + Potato Soup

Time to get cozy with this super-rich and creamy soup that you’d swear is loaded with cream!  Roasting the veggies creates a surprising richness to this yummy soup, perfect for a cozy night at home with a good book OR for entertaining!  This recipe is clean, Shred friendly, and vegan of you replace the chicken stock with vegetable. MAKE IT HAPPEN: Preheat oven to 425. Chop: 5 yellow potatoes, skin on 2 fresh leeks 1/2 yellow onion Toss veggies in a large bowl with a little sunflower oil, salt, pepper, 2 cloves of crushed garlic, and tsp ground rosemary and sage. Spread on a parchment covered baking sheet and roast about 30 minutes or until toasty and golden. While your spuds are roasting – Chop: 1 red onion 1 leek Sautee in a large pot with one tablespoon of organic butter and a dash of sea salt until translucent. Add your roasted veggies to your large pot of sautéed onions along with: 1 can good quality coconut milk 5-6 cups of good quality chicken stock Add rosemary and sage to taste along with a dash of chilli powder and one tablespoon of real maple syrup. Heat through till it bubbles over medium heat.  Cover and simmer on low for 15 minutes. Transfer to your blender in small batch and blend until completely smooth. You are in good company, revNATION is growing stronger every day!  We have people participating in this challenge coast to coast.  You are not alone…the whole idea is to do this TOGETHER and crush our goals, one day at a time!   Here’s a reminder of how it works: revNATION BLOG: Stay tuned to the revNATION blog for posts all week long!  You’ll find recipes, workout tips, motivation and more.
