Holiday Shred 2016 Revver Natalie… On how she balances it all AND shreds the bands, the waves, and CRUSHES life in general. Why did the bands feel different for you?  Why did the workout stick? Immediately following my first few Rev workouts, I could feel my muscles reacting.  I was the typical beginner, concentrating on clipping my bands on properly and using the right resistance for each sequence.  What I quickly realized was how much stronger I felt – and that feeling increased with each class.  RevMix classes became my favourite and I would start to challenge myself to improve my strength – adding more reps to my donkey push-ups, getting lower on my squats, pushing through those mountain climbers at an increasingly faster pace.  I could see results after only a few weeks and outside of the studio, I would find myself running up stairs and carrying even more heavy grocery bags without struggling.  I just felt strong!   Was there ever a time when fitness was not part of your life?  What changed? Mystery Revver Crushes the Bands!

From undercover to Shred Star! In Cambridge, we’ve always had a Facebook group where Revvers could share recipes, laughs, and support.  Some time ago, our Facebook group suddenly stepped up its humour game. A mystery Revver had us all in stitches with her dry humour and hilarious observations.  Who was this super-clever band groupie?  We had no idea…her Facebook photo was a cartoon and her profile seemed to contain zero pictures of her actual self.  After a week or two, our whole crew was wondering – who is she? Finally the mystery Revver posted that she’d forgotten an umbrella after class, which I held hostage until she claimed it from me personally.  To my surprise, Amanda came to the desk to claim it - a seriously quiet and unforgettable person I had seen come in and out of the studio without a word for months.  Over the last year, a lot has changed.  Maybe we’ll let Amanda tell you her version of the story first: “So, a year ago I was fat, sad, and lifting weights in my basement. I had no friends, rarely went out, and could not have been more depressed. I couldn’t even do a squat so I was failing pretty hard at the weightlifting. The people who inspire and motivate us the most always have one thing in common: perseverance.  Why  do we have this misconception that some people get all the luck?  That some people’s roads are smoother and flow more easier because they were gifted with the talent good fortune to reach the loftiest of goals? Any accomplished artist will say - they do not roll out of bed every morning and paint a masterpiece.  They try and fail a zillion times before finding their flow.  Writers struggle for days, months, sometimes years, throwing away endless drafts before finally finding the voice of a story.  Think of elite athletes - how many time do they fall, lose, bleed before becoming a champion? What elevates people to extraordinary is resilience and focus.  We have to believe in our goals, see ourselves reaching them, and stop at nothing to get where we believe we deserve to go. Our Rebellion goals are no different.
