Have you ever met someone who makes you happy just by existing?  Meet the next winner from our Revkor™ Summer Shred!  Our very own Madeline is a grad from our January 2015 Certification program.  A natural teacher and motivator, this little spitfire kind of blows us away with her awesomeness. We chose Madeline as one of three RevLIFE winners not only because of her incredible Shred commitment, but also because of the rocking example she is to people in their early twenties.  Her commitment to living healthy and inspiring others to do the same is just one of many ways this being is a natural leader and inspiration. While Maddy was already in killer shape when the challenge started, you can’t deny how strong she looks now!  Congrats Madeline!  You are such an important part of revNATION and our London Market Studio! “My clean eating journey started with certification at the end of January. If I was promoting clean eating to our members I better practice what I preach. I wasn’t ignorant I was just lazy. For the shred I kicked it up tenfold; I wanted to challenge myself and really see what my body could do. It was hard to get into classes  because everyone was going hard core for this shred, so my results were going to be dependant on how I ate. From the beginning I knew this would be the hardest part for me. Clean eating is a big mental challenge. I became the household grocery shopper; I ate consistently throughout the day and I rarely left the house without multiple healthy snacks. This lifestyle is truly all about balance, I pressed the Revkor Reset a couple of times and still ended up with results I am super proud of. Meet Revkor™ Shred second prize winner, Kathryn! In the past 2 plus years, Kathryn has probably stepped up to the bands more than any other member.  A staple at our founding studio in London, Kathryn is a major fixture in the Rev community in so many ways.  We actually call her our Rev-Police, (aka Rev Popo!!) because she helps keep our creative and dream-chasing company in check!  Always there helping new students and adjusting bands, our London Market studio simply wouldn’t be the same without her. Seeing Kathryn’s transformation brings tears to our eyes (ok who are we kidding, full-out bawling!). Stories like these are a shining example of why we’ve incorporated clean-eating into the Rev culture.  So many unstoppable people bring their whole hearts into workouts then find themselves disappointed with their lack of results.  Add a little clean-eating and BOOM!  Members uncover the strength and definition they’ve had all along. Kathryn is the second prize winner of our 2015 Revkor™ Summer Shred, and her results speak for themselves.  But she also wins for being such an integral part of revNATION.  Congrats Popo…we love you!  You inspire so many! Erin Moraghan runs Revkor™ with her superstar partner Angela Rivard. She is a writer, Revkor™ instructor, yoga teacher, and business-builder. But who really cares? We’re here to talk about kale and muscles. Let’s do this! This is a Revkor™ body.  You can have one too. The photo in this post is of Angela Rivard, my business partner.  Pretty jacked, huh?  She’s not a fitness model, and certainly NOT photoshopped. She’s a real person just like us. A busy, driven, dynamic entrepreneur, small business owner, and single mom with all the demands and craziness as the rest of us.  And also like us, she loves herself a juicy burger, a big Cabernet, and a Friday night chocolate binge. So what makes her different? People ask her all the time: “Why do you look the way you do? What other workouts are you into?” We always have a good laugh about this.  If you know Ange, then you know she eats, sleeps and breathes Revkor™.  Sometimes we joke - what do people think? That she has a secret stash of weights in her back office?  That she wears a disguise to Crossfit to get ripped? I first met Angela just over a year after she started FLXyoga. Angela was strong, smart, and in fabulous shape, but things were about to rev up her awesome-factor…big-time. In early 2014 Angela developed her first FLXmix sequence.  I saw something completely transform in her.  YES, I saw a physical evolution but something else was evolving.  Angela had found her calling and the business hit its stride.  FLXyoga was already blowing people away, but Mix sequences were just what people’s bodies...

Hey revNATION!  Your hard work and passion for our workouts makes me so excited!!  You tell me all the time that one of your favourite things about our Revkor™ sequences is that they help us build true muscle in dynamic, functional ways.  We get to Rev our way to a strong, lean body together with awesome music, challenging movements, incredible variety, and a pretty great crew of people around us.  What more could we ask for? Whether you’re in the middle of the Shred challenge or not, you want to show up at the bands and make the most out of your workouts each and every time.  To Rev up your efforts, consider spending time in your classes working on truly isolating the muscle we’re focusing on, making a huge difference in your progress! How do we do this? Really listen to the cueing during class to be reminded of which muscles we’re working during a particular movement Bring your attention to the specific muscle throughout the repetition, actually squeezing the muscle at the bottom of the rep. Feel the pump - WOW! Research shows that just thinking of the muscle during engagement actually increases activation within that muscle.  Cool right?  Through simple focus and awareness, you can increase your muscle gains, getting more shredded by the second.
