Dry Espresso Steak Rub with a side of advice.

Dry Espresso Steak Rub with a side of advice.

Dry Espresso Steak Rub and no red flags. I love this recipe share for a few reasons.  First, it comes from my friend Steve Cross - a serious Revver and one of the most hardcore creative renegades we know. Before I give you his killer recipe for one of the best steak rubs going, I’ll use this opportunity to tell you a little story about a huge turning point in my world. A few summers ago, I was hanging with Steve dreaming up big business ideas.  Steve and I first met at one of my favourite places - Monigram Coffee Roasters - and I knew from day one that he was my kind of person.  When you’re a born entrepreneur, most of the world thinks you’re partially insane until one of your good ideas is actually rolling, so Steve and I made good, insane company. I was lamenting about challenging clients and the horrors of dating in your late 30s, when Steve threw out a statement that hit me right in the gut.  When it comes to people and situations, he said, there should be no red flags. NO RED FLAGS? It didn’t even make sense.  At the time, the title on my business card read “Fixer”.  People with floundering businesses hired me to clean their messes so ultimately, I was surrounded by people who struggle to take responsibility or make their own stuff happen.  I thrived on red flags and the challenge of trying turn shit-shows into something spectacular.  Until this day: because something clicked for me.  We know we’re supposed to listen to our gut, but sometimes life gets too noisy.  I had long been confusing...
Help us help Haven House!

Help us help Haven House!

This Christmas, Women’s Crisis Services has presented Revkor Cambridge with an opportunity to get together and wrap gifts for the women and children at Haven House. This resonates with us for so many reasons.  A workout as empowering as Revkor gives us strength on the outside and a new kind of fire on the inside.  Think of the strength it takes for a woman to choose change and make things better for her family?  Let’s share our strength and unstoppable energy, putting it all into those special holiday gifts!   So this holiday season, we’d like to invite you to help us support Haven House two different ways: First, email me at erin@revkor.com if you are interested in: GIFT WRAPPING EVENT! Haven House Wednesday December 16th, 5-8 pm Also, we’ve put together these hand-picked vintage tea packages, featuring our favourite tea blends from Monigram Coffee Roasters.  They make the perfect holiday hostess gift, and proceeds benefit Haven House.  They are $36 and feature a vintage tea cup and saucer, cute tea strainer, and jar of tea. These are in honour of my mom and our Free Pass Friday adventures…AND her belief that stopping for a cup of tea - even for 5 minutes -  can turn your whole outlook around. If you’re not familiar with the concept of Free Pass Friday, be sure to read the post!  Thanks for helping us help moms and kids in our community.  We have all needed help in our lives, so let’s pay it forward and spread some kindness together! So much thanks to you #revbridge!  You are an inspiration all day every day <3 Happy Holidays! XO...
School’s Out! Teachers Rev it Up!

School’s Out! Teachers Rev it Up!

Erin Moraghan runs Revkor™ with her superstar partner Angela Rivard. She is a writer, Revkor™ instructor, yoga teacher, and business-builder. But who really cares? We’re here to talk about kale and muscles. Let’s do this!   As a long-time yoga teacher, one of my favourite things about getting back to my fitness roots and instructing Rev classes is the sense of community and non-stop chatter in the room!  In yoga we tend not to talk in the practice room, so at Moksha Yoga Cambridge, which offers a great roster of Revkor™ programming, students can’t get enough of the opportunity to connect. Meet two of my favourite bubbly Revvers: Sarah and Kayla!  Colleagues and friends, these two are so much fun to have in the room because they bring 100% energy and non-stop smiles to the bands. As two primary school teachers, Kayla and Sarah chat about their love for Revkor™, how their workouts make them (even more) amazing at their jobs, and how they feel in their new Revved up bodies! If you’re a school-teacher off for the summer, find yourself a Revkor™ class and take advantage of the summer months to find your strongest self, inside and out.  If you’re wondering whether Revkor™ is right for you, read S+K’s reflections below and discover that this really is everyone’s workout! Happy summer! “I first tried Rev in March and have been coming to class consistently since.  I have absolutely loved it from day one! This class motivates me to push and feel great about myself. I love the atmosphere in the room. Even though it is a challenging class, it...
