Reset Button? Meet Grind Switch.

Reset Button? Meet The Grind Switch. If you’re a new Revver, you may not be familiar with the Revkor Reset.  Band veterans have been pressing the Reset button time and again - it’s been one of the key tools in our success tool box. Our philosophy has always been this: the only moment we can control is this one, right now.  Sometimes things go sideways and we fall off the rails: a mac and cheese binge, missing workouts, that single glass turns into 3… Getting down on ourselves does nothing in the name of our goals, so we press the handy Revkor Reset button.  We start fresh - getting back on the horse and going forward with brand new resolve.  Zero judgment, no self-loathing…these are dangerous responses that only sabotage everything awesome we’re striving for. In the name of the Rebellion however, we’re stepping the Reset up a notch.  Reset Button?  Meet THE GRIND SWITCH. There is a fine line between pressing The Reset and not trying.  Sounds harsh but hear us out because this is how champions are made, Rebels! Yes, it feels good to give ourselves a free pass, knowing that a Revkor Reset is right there when we need it.  Before we grab that free pass and run, can we challenge ourselves, one temptation at a time, to DIG DEEPER for some resolve?  Can we turn on THE GRIND SWITCH and really ask ourselves, do I need this? How will it make me feel?  Can I push a little harder? The rewards are so worth it! Before we splurge, miss workouts, or bail on a promise we’ve made...
REBELLION: The Grind

REBELLION: The Grind

Week Two: Here comes the hustle. During Week One we kicked off with a single truth: The biggest successes in the world are born out of passion.  To succeed, we must LOVE what we’re doing.  Letting go of what holds us back, making space for all the good sh*t, and using The Get Force to keep a positive state of mind - this is how we get there. Here’s another truth we cannot change: The road to great success is paved with HARD WORK. This goes against everything the quick-fix solicitors have been telling us all our lives.  Any of this sound familiar? Do this 21 day detox and change your whole body for life! Take this course and change your whole career overnight! Take these supplements and burn fat just sitting! Sell these products on the side, you’ll get rich! Do what you love and the rest will follow! We’re sorry to break the news but all of this - yes, EVEN the last point - is BULLSH*T. Everything worth having comes from the hard work it takes to MAKE it happen.  No way around it.  As Rebels we not only accept this, we EMBRACE THE GRIND.  We’re not looking for short cuts or cheap solutions, we’re going for gold and loving (almost) every second of the journey. What holds us back? GUILT:  Turns out we FEEL BADLY focusing on our own goals, and would sooner put others first.  Don’t we deserve to be all we can? Isn’t that better for those around us? FEAR: Sometimes disguised as procrastination.  What if we fail? What if we don’t like what we uncover on the other side...
“Get strong; crush your goals.”

“Get strong; crush your goals.”

Holiday Shred 2016 Revver Natalie… On how she balances it all AND shreds the bands, the waves, and CRUSHES life in general. Why did the bands feel different for you?  Why did the workout stick? Immediately following my first few Rev workouts, I could feel my muscles reacting.  I was the typical beginner, concentrating on clipping my bands on properly and using the right resistance for each sequence.  What I quickly realized was how much stronger I felt – and that feeling increased with each class.  RevMix classes became my favourite and I would start to challenge myself to improve my strength – adding more reps to my donkey push-ups, getting lower on my squats, pushing through those mountain climbers at an increasingly faster pace.  I could see results after only a few weeks and outside of the studio, I would find myself running up stairs and carrying even more heavy grocery bags without struggling.  I just felt strong!   Was there ever a time when fitness was not part of your life?  What changed? I played sports all of my life but have never been a fan of the gym.  After I had my two boys, I struggled with finding time for exercise.  I felt guilty leaving them and in my spare time I would clean the house and cook meals, trying to be the ‘perfect’ mom.  I was tired and trying to live up to unrealistic goals.  I was travelling regularly for work, away from home 3-4 days a week.  My husband, who has always made time for staying fit, helped me realize that in order to...
Fresh Start February!

Fresh Start February!

Most of you are already Revvers and know that when it comes to getting the very best fitness experience, you get what you pay for.  So we’re gonna ask you to share this post and help others re-think their strategy.  Even though resolutions may have slipped through the cracks,  it’s not too late for people to kick the new year off right…it’s Fresh Start February! If you locked into a cheap gym membership in January, join the club.   Market research shows that gym membership sales skyrocket by as much as 40-60% each January.  What happens to that Near Year’s Resolution crowd?  Some studies say that up to 80% of members who purchase a January membership stop attending the gym by mid-February (even though they continue to pay for the rest of their contract). A fact that doesn’t sting too badly, now that most big-box gyms are selling memberships at bargain basement prices.  We’ve even seen them as low as $10 per month! What a deal, right? You can barely get a decent latte for that price! Obvious fact alert: Gyms sell cheap memberships because they know you’re not likely to actually show up.  It’s a numbers game based on high-volume sales.  Most studies show that between 14-18% of people who have a gym membership actually use it, and major fitness facilities count on these stats to keep their business strategy rolling strong. Instead of handing over money every month to a company that makes your personal fitness failures their business model, why not support facilities that actually want you to show up, love your workout, and succeed? Here’s something we know for sure:  if you want a...
This is where things get real.

This is where things get real.

The people who inspire and motivate us the most always have one thing in common: perseverance.  Why  do we have this misconception that some people get all the luck?  That some people’s roads are smoother and flow more easier because they were gifted with the talent good fortune to reach the loftiest of goals? Any accomplished artist will say - they do not roll out of bed every morning and paint a masterpiece.  They try and fail a zillion times before finding their flow.  Writers struggle for days, months, sometimes years, throwing away endless drafts before finally finding the voice of a story.  Think of elite athletes - how many time do they fall, lose, bleed before becoming a champion? What elevates people to extraordinary is resilience and focus.  We have to believe in our goals, see ourselves reaching them, and stop at nothing to get where we believe we deserve to go. Our Rebellion goals are no different. What motivates you to push through your challenge?  Most of us start with a focus on inches or pounds, or maybe the desire to fit into a goal outfit.  But doesn’t something else completely take over? When we push through the hardest moves in revMIX, uncovering the strength that has always been there, we fuel a fire deep inside that is about so much more than how we look in our clothes.  We all want to quit - hell - it’s a lot easier to drop to your knees than crushing out ten more seconds of mountain climbers.  But when we choose to persevere, we prove to ourselves that we are extraordinary.  Quitting is...
