When I was 17, I hurt my back working in a grocery store.  At 19, I was finally diagnosed with degenerative disks in my upper back and neck.  They told me that my 19 year old disks were in the condition of a healthy 60 year old’s, and I was informed that disability would worsen with age.  The doctors said there was nothing they could do, but that I could control how quickly the injury worsened. It was recommended that I give up my dream to teach (which I did not) and stay away from any high impact activities.  I was even told that I would probably have to get a breast reduction later in life.  As such a young woman, I was horrified.  Eventually, I just accepted that I would have chronic pain for the rest of my life and there was nothing I could do about it.  The pain just became a way of life and I found ways...

Holiday Shred 2016 Revver Natalie… On how she balances it all AND shreds the bands, the waves, and CRUSHES life in general. Why did the bands feel different for you?  Why did the workout stick? Immediately following my first few Rev workouts, I could feel my muscles reacting.  I was the typical beginner, concentrating on clipping my bands on properly and using the right resistance for each sequence.  What I quickly realized was how much stronger I felt – and that feeling increased with each class.  RevMix classes became my favourite and I would start to challenge myself to improve my strength – adding more reps to my donkey push-ups, getting lower on my squats, pushing through those mountain climbers at an increasingly faster pace.  I could see results after only a few weeks and outside of the studio, I would find myself running up stairs and carrying even more heavy grocery bags without struggling.  I just felt strong!   Was there ever a time when fitness was not part of your life?  What changed? I played sports all of my life but have never been a fan of the gym.  After I had my two boys, I struggled with finding time for exercise.  I felt guilty leaving them and in my spare time I would clean the house and cook meals, trying to be the ‘perfect’ mom.  I was tired and trying to live up to unrealistic goals.  I was travelling regularly for work, away from home 3-4 days a week.  My husband, who has always made time for staying fit, helped me realize that in order to...

Shred Star Chantal! “Revkor was a beautiful discovery – I could build muscle during an enjoyable class without touching a weight!” One of the things we love most about Shred is sharing stories to help change the way we think of each others’ journeys.  It would be easy to meet Chantal and think it comes easy.  Strong, always smiling and ready with something kind to say, she’s one of those people who just makes you feel happy when you’re around her. But being strong hasn’t come without setbacks and struggles. Always a lover of life, Chantal has always loved staying active, being outside, and making the most of every day. “I started running when I was 20 and never looked back. I quickly got into distance running,  participating in Marathons on a regular basis. I was never one for the gym, however pushed myself to start going a few years back, realizing that muscle was very important to support myself when running.” Chantal says she never fully enjoyed weight lifting and felt it was more of a chore. “Revkor was a beautiful discovery – I could build muscle during an enjoyable class without touching a weight!” Naturally active, Chantal rides horses, snowboards, and loves being outdoors with her family.  A while back, she suffered a setback with a snowboarding injury, and raves about how the bands helped her move through her knee recovery. “I completely tore my meniscus and partially tore my MCL.  The torn pieces of meniscus were lodged behind my kneecap for months, limiting mobility until I went for surgery.  Due to a month of no use, I lost...

  “I finished the year 2014 overweight, sad, and unhealthy. I told myself that 2015 would be my year to get out of the funk I had found myself living in.”   Meet Tiffany, one of two top winners from the 2015 Revkor Holiday Shred.  Before we tell you Tiffany’s story, we’ll let her hard work speak for itself: When we first met Tiffany, we knew something was up.  Always kind and reserved around the studio, she would hit the bands like a ferocious machine.  We weren’t surprised to eventually learn that she was a seriously accomplished athlete. “You would never know looking at my before picture that I’d been a competitive swimmer my entire life, competing at the national level as well as at an NCAA division 1 university in the USA. People often looked at me in disbelief when I told them my background, they could not believe I was an athlete. I was determined to change this.” When we think of Revkor #BallsAndSteam, this girl has it.  Determined to harness her academic potential, Tiffany hustled to become one of the nation’s most elite swimmers, earning her a scholarship at The University of Nevada, Las Vegas. In case the idea of going to school in Sin City conjures up ideas of all-night debauchery, you can guess again.  During her ten years in Vegas, Tiffany set hardcore goals for herself and crushed the hell out of them, one by one.  Over the decade she earned herself a double Masters in nursing and her MBA. Meet Revkor™ Shred second prize winner, Kathryn! In the past 2 plus years, Kathryn has probably stepped up to the bands more than any other member.  A staple at our founding studio in London, Kathryn is a major fixture in the Rev community in so many ways.  We actually call her our Rev-Police, (aka Rev Popo!!) because she helps keep our creative and dream-chasing company in check!  Always there helping new students and adjusting bands, our London Market studio simply wouldn’t be the same without her. Seeing Kathryn’s transformation brings tears to our eyes (ok who are we kidding, full-out bawling!). Stories like these are a shining example of why we’ve incorporated clean-eating into the Rev culture.  So many unstoppable people bring their whole hearts into workouts then find themselves disappointed with their lack of results.  Add a little clean-eating and BOOM!  Members uncover the strength and definition they’ve had all along.
