The Weekend-Rebel Survival Guide!

The Weekend-Rebel Survival Guide!

Canadian’s love summer weekends. After all, our summer is like 5 seconds long.  Living healthy doesn’t mean we won’t revel in good times.  What does set us apart is that we’ll be among the few people who don’t feel like total sh!t Sunday night - who’s with us? THE HURDLES Knowing what our challenges will be before the weekend rolls up means we’re better prepared to crush. We asked Revvers for their top reasons for falling off the goal train: Peer Pressure: Kids aren’t the only ones who crumble…this was actually the top answer by a landslide.  “I feel lame having a soda water or a single cocktail when everyone else is indulging around the campfire. I don’t want to feel like the odd man out.”  Feel familiar? Temptation: If you’re cottage-bound, odds are friends and family will be firing up the barbecue and with cocktails flowing dock-side.  Hard to resist?  “My brother in law makes the world’s best ribs every May 24, I can’t imagine saying no.” Manners:  No one wants to feel like the annoying health fiend at the party, munching on carrot sticks and seed mix.  “It feels rude bringing my own meals when I’m a guest at someone’s cottage for the weekend.” THE STRATEGY   Get Real: We’re not here to tell you that you can let it rip all weekend long then press the Reset button Tuesday morning.  While it’s true that we can always choose a fresh start when we need one, part of being hardcore is making tough choices and going the extra mile.  We already know that success comes with hard work and dedication, there’s no getting...

It was on this Grand Bend trip that we developed the strategy to move our growing London-based company to a franchise.  We had lofty goals and were having a blast figuring out how to tackle them. Angela’s new partner Al joined us for dinner on our second night.  This was one of my first times meeting him, and I was excited to learn that Ange had connected with such a bright, driven entrepreneur.  We opened good wine and settled in for a fun night of start-up themed chats. Based on my work with so many business owners, Al wanted to know: what did I think the magic recipe was?  What made the difference between average and outstanding?  What did I see in Ange when we first met that set her apart?  My answer came to me instantly, and was inspired by every badass change-agent I know.  The magic? Balls and steam. I’ve been lucky enough to work with unbelievable mentors who’ve achieved huge successes.  I’ve watched many business owners fail.  I’ve also had my own invaluable experiences both soaring and tanking, and nothing has taught me more. A fancy pedigree, unstoppable network, the highest education; these are not secrets to success.  Loads of money, all the right investors - that’s not it either.  In life and business, the people...
