This is what it takes.

This is what it takes.

The secret recipe for success, and you happen to have it. In the early summer of 2015, Ange and I were about two days into one of our quarterly work retreats.  Sitting on the back deck of our of our Revver’s beach-side homes, we were in heaven!  Three days to dream HUGE without any limits.  Where could we take Revkor? It was on this Grand Bend trip that we developed the strategy to move our growing London-based company to a franchise.  We had lofty goals and were having a blast figuring out how to tackle them. Angela’s new partner Al joined us for dinner on our second night.  This was one of my first times meeting him, and I was excited to learn that Ange had connected with such a bright, driven entrepreneur.  We opened good wine and settled in for a fun night of start-up themed chats. Based on my work with so many business owners, Al wanted to know: what did I think the magic recipe was?  What made the difference between average and outstanding?  What did I see in Ange when we first met that set her apart?  My answer came to me instantly, and was inspired by every badass change-agent I know.  The magic? Balls and steam. I’ve been lucky enough to work with unbelievable mentors who’ve achieved huge successes.  I’ve watched many business owners fail.  I’ve also had my own invaluable experiences both soaring and tanking, and nothing has taught me more. A fancy pedigree, unstoppable network, the highest education; these are not secrets to success.  Loads of money, all the right investors - that’s not it either.  In life and business, the people...
Fresh Start February!

Fresh Start February!

Most of you are already Revvers and know that when it comes to getting the very best fitness experience, you get what you pay for.  So we’re gonna ask you to share this post and help others re-think their strategy.  Even though resolutions may have slipped through the cracks,  it’s not too late for people to kick the new year off right…it’s Fresh Start February! If you locked into a cheap gym membership in January, join the club.   Market research shows that gym membership sales skyrocket by as much as 40-60% each January.  What happens to that Near Year’s Resolution crowd?  Some studies say that up to 80% of members who purchase a January membership stop attending the gym by mid-February (even though they continue to pay for the rest of their contract). A fact that doesn’t sting too badly, now that most big-box gyms are selling memberships at bargain basement prices.  We’ve even seen them as low as $10 per month! What a deal, right? You can barely get a decent latte for that price! Obvious fact alert: Gyms sell cheap memberships because they know you’re not likely to actually show up.  It’s a numbers game based on high-volume sales.  Most studies show that between 14-18% of people who have a gym membership actually use it, and major fitness facilities count on these stats to keep their business strategy rolling strong. Instead of handing over money every month to a company that makes your personal fitness failures their business model, why not support facilities that actually want you to show up, love your workout, and succeed? Here’s something we know for sure:  if you want a...
Post Shred Blues? We’ve got your fix.

Post Shred Blues? We’ve got your fix.

Alright revNATION, we hear you loud and clear!  Some of you have a bad case of the PSBs, and who can blame you?  We’d be lying if we said that we aren’t also pining for the days of sticker boards and crazy Shred-season energy. Revkor Shred runs 8 weeks long for a reason: so that healthy habits become a lifestyle.  Hanging on to that lifestyle though isn’t easy, but guess what?  You’re tough stuff, and you can do it. If you think you’re the only one who’s fallen off the Shred-rails, guess again.  Does this sound familiar? Wowieee!  I really crushed that Shred!  I’m feeling better than I’ve felt in YEARS.  I’m going to celebrate with poutine and a pitcher of beer.  Maybe I’ll see a movie this Saturday instead of Revving.  You know, it’s not that big of a deal to order the extra large popcorn at the movies.  I mean, corn is a WHOLE GRAIN.  Wow.  I’m feeling bloated, I think I’m going to skip revMIX this morning and watch Making a Murderer on Netflix in my track pants.   Just one episode.  Ok three - because really, this is important world news, it would be IRRESPONSIBLE not to know how this story plays out.  Know what goes really well with Netflix?  Pizza.  Oh geez.  Look what I’ve done with my results.  I let myself down - just when I was totally getting somewhere.  I’m such a colossal weenie. I can’t get anything right.  Booohoooooooooo. C’mon Revvers, it’s time to remember what we’re made of!  We’ve watched you sweat your way through hours of game-changing moves at the bands, there’s no...
Your revMIX secret weapon. It’s not what you think.

Your revMIX secret weapon. It’s not what you think.

Want to CRUSH your Revkor high intensity workouts? Are you a revMIX junkie?  Our high intensity classes like revMIX 1, 2, 3 - and our latest killer sequence revFIX – are an obsession.  There is nothing like that feeling of challenging yourself to push out your best possible minute at the bands. If you’re new to Rev, you might be wondering how to get better at these classes.  Will those burpee climbers ever get easier? And Rev veterans know that while we always find progress, these classes are always one of the most challenging workouts going. We recently wrapped up our annual Revkor Holiday Shred, (WABAM!) and 8 weeks of hardcore Revving and super-clean eating turned more people than ever into revMIX and revFIX junkies!  You’d be hard-pressed to find a workout that delivers those kinds of rapid results in such a fun package. Want to seriously step up your game and challenge yourself to find the most killer planks, powerful jump lunges, and pushups that would make any athlete envy your strength? The answer might not be what you think. Revkor no-impact sequences are designed to help you develop unparalleled stability, mobility and deep power.  This is why so many elite athletes call our original sequences like revSPORT and revYOGA their secret weapon, helping them achieve top performance on the ice, the field, the ring… The controlled, focused movements help you isolate your muscle groups and build strength from a foundation of good form.  Unlike training with free weights and other less dynamic equipment, the constant tension on the resistance bands asks so much more from your body.  The focused pace of...
This is where things get real.

This is where things get real.

The people who inspire and motivate us the most always have one thing in common: perseverance.  Why  do we have this misconception that some people get all the luck?  That some people’s roads are smoother and flow more easier because they were gifted with the talent good fortune to reach the loftiest of goals? Any accomplished artist will say - they do not roll out of bed every morning and paint a masterpiece.  They try and fail a zillion times before finding their flow.  Writers struggle for days, months, sometimes years, throwing away endless drafts before finally finding the voice of a story.  Think of elite athletes - how many time do they fall, lose, bleed before becoming a champion? What elevates people to extraordinary is resilience and focus.  We have to believe in our goals, see ourselves reaching them, and stop at nothing to get where we believe we deserve to go. Our Rebellion goals are no different. What motivates you to push through your challenge?  Most of us start with a focus on inches or pounds, or maybe the desire to fit into a goal outfit.  But doesn’t something else completely take over? When we push through the hardest moves in revMIX, uncovering the strength that has always been there, we fuel a fire deep inside that is about so much more than how we look in our clothes.  We all want to quit - hell - it’s a lot easier to drop to your knees than crushing out ten more seconds of mountain climbers.  But when we choose to persevere, we prove to ourselves that we are extraordinary.  Quitting is...
